Forestry and Sustainability

Here at Test Valley Logs sustainability is at the heart of our business. All our wood is sourced locally (from within 30 miles of our yard in Stockbridge, Andover). Much of the wood we use is cut by ourselves during our forestry operations, albeit from regenerating a derelict Hazel coppice to thinning out forestry plantations. We guarantee all our logs are produced from carefully managed local woodland, promoting sustainable practices.

The woodlands we source our firewood from are managed as any other crop. Planted, cared for and harvested at the right time to produce the optimum product.
Where many larger suppliers of firewood in the UK source there wood nationally or import it from outside of the UK Test Valley Logs believe locally sourced firewood, produced on a small scale and delivered locally is the only truly sustainable way forward for the firewood industry. This promotes Jobs and opportunities at a local level and keeps our native woodlands healthy and productive for years to come.
